A big thank you to all our suppliers and clients for making the past year, it has felt like a very busy and quick year!
We had a sensational run of Awards in 2022; winning three! Including two Golds for our "B" Black Garlic Vinegar at the Farm Shop & Deli Awards and the Quality Food Awards (beating the Italian’s Balsamic too!). We were also awarded a QFA for Best Small Producer; a great Honour for us.
We have opened new markets in Germany, Sweden and Italy, with more on the horizon.
But it’s not all smooth sailing; with our biggest problem continuing to be sourcing glass bottles. This has been a big problem over the past 4 years and some may remember Jayne featuring on the national BBC News, with Simon Jacks. The war in Ukraine, covid and the general downturn of the world economy have not helped. Especially the rising costs for electric.
We still make dressings for pizza restaurants and are looking forward to producing them for retail this year. We hope to have them available to buy from our shop in a 250ml bottle.
We will also be releasing our NEW Brown Sauce. The proceeds from these sales going to a local charity Forgotten Veterans UK (forgottenveteransuk.com). We will be calling it Beer, Bacon and FVUK It Sauce! As always, it will be made with the best natural ingredients; No added salt, Vegan friendly using a smoked porter made by Ollie at the Portsmouth Brewhouse & Kitchen.
Our little recipe book created by Jayne and Jonathan has proved to be very popular. They are now busy creating a full recipe book aided by some very well-known chefs; with proceeds again going to FVUK.
It's been a refreshing challenge developing special cordials for many of our clients. We’ve had particular fun creating bespoke flavours for Massimo at Heston's The Hinds Head Bray; who also creates a lovely Bloody Mary using our ‘B’ Black Garlic Vinegar, it's on our site!!
You will still see us at various shows again this year; including the big Farm Shop & Deli show in April. We will also be attending Nordstil in Hamburg with our German distributor Market Grounds. Keep an eye on our Events page for more details.
